Ghostly Brain Ripples

For many of us, September proved to be an upheaval of emotions, shadow work, releasing of what needed to be released, and personal growth. Whew! We can see now how all that inner clearing makes way for new experiences and people to enter our lives and gives us an expectant, excited perspective. It helps that Mercury is stationed forward once again as the beautiful month of October comes in - happy birthday to me later this month! Part of my process in September was “going hermit,” meaning I sought unplugged time to sit in solitude, meditate, reflect, and find my clarity and gratitude zone, find the lighted path ahead. A very hard choice in September involved the releasing of a romantic relationship in its current state. In seeking guidance, I found this video about how our brains process and support our romantic relationships. It features Dr. Helen Fisher, the Chief Scientific Advisor for Match.com (among her many other accomplishments) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4psi-MeJjk. I am encouraged by her optimism regarding our evolving understanding of what creates a long-lasting and fulfilling marriage. Dr. Fisher’s video led me to a different area of brain research as well. Researchers are exploring how possibly limitless “high-frequency oscillations that ripple through our brains may generate memory and conscious experience.” And that these ripples are like a procession of ghosts vibrating in our gray matter.
